Waitrose | The Cooking Report
During my time with the editorial team at Waitrose, I was given the opportunity to design the Cooking Report. The brief provided me with full creative freedom within the framework of Waitrose’s brand and image guidelines. While ensuring consistency with the established look and feel of the Food & Drink Report for inspiration, I was able to explore a range of design approaches, experimenting with different layouts, imagery, typography, and presentation styles.

This project allowed me to apply my knowledge of infographics, replacing standard statistical callouts with more engaging and visually impactful data visualisation. With feedback from the team, I refined the design further, exploring variations in layout, incorporating both cut-out and full-bleed photography to enhance visual storytelling.
Once published, the report received excellent coverage, with prominent news outlets such as the Daily Mail and The Telegraph highlighting its content. It was incredibly rewarding to see something I had designed from start to finish gain such public attention. I also had the chance to present the Cooking Report during a wider content and design team huddle, where I walked the team through the concept, visual direction, and the strong response it received, an experience I found both exciting and fulfilling.
