Waze banners are assets which appear when you search up the place you are looking for usually with enticing new offers to encourage the driver to come to the relevant location. The brief I was given consisted of designing banners for the valentine's campaign, delivering 2 different types of banners in 2 different sizes: 1 for the meal deal and one for gifting.
As the banner sits on a phone screen on an app where it has very limited space and is only viewed for a couple seconds, it was important that the text and logo was instantly visible and that there were no contrasting factors which could hinder this. I learned that banners with solely copy work better than ones which use photography, as pictures of food can seem quite generic and common. When a clear and encouraging phrase is used, it makes the banner different to competitors, therefore increasing the likelihood of the customer stopping at your store.
